GoPro File Naming Convention

Alright so you just purchased a GoPro, and started playing around with filming or taking photos.  You have successfully connected your GoPro to your computer and transferred your files, and are now wondering what do those file name mean?

GoPro has set up a Customer Support Hub to answer that, or you could just hang out here and get those answers.

FILE ORGANIZATION

When it comes to organizing files, GoPro does just as well at streamlining and grouping files, as most computers do organizing filenames or dates. I have always been a proponent of using the large to small sorting (ISO 8601). But for whatever reason, GoPro chose differently.
